Zoe’s Grooming Tips: The Right Way to Shampoo a Dog

Have you experienced having a hard time to convince your dog to take his bath? Are you and your pet are always in a hide and seek situation whereas your dog seems to look pretty alarmed that he is going to take a bath again?

This is a usual scenario for dog owners especially when they are newbie on taking a dog for a bath. Some dogs seems to be afraid of getting wet and be cleaned by their masters. It will come to a point where it really requires a great effort to convince your dog that he or she needs to be cleaned.

Dogs aren’t afraid of the water. I know that for sure. Because there would be no dog style in swimming if they do… LOL!!!

Moving on, mom and dads out there, try the following steps for your dogs when they are taking a bath. Somehow this could add up for them to look out taking that taking a bath is so much fun! These are easy steps on how to shampoo your pet dogs.

First, before having the dog with you, prepare the things that you will use. Mainly that would include brush to remove some curl up on his hair, shampoo for the actual bathing and towel to dry him up.

Secondly, if you have some ear plugs, put in on to your dog. The purpose of the ear plug is to prevent the water from getting inside the ears.

If you prefer bathing the dog on a bath tub, you could place a rubber mat to prevent him from slipping then hold him securely. You can tie him up so that your dog will not escape from you. On the other hand, if you prefer on the garden or outside, you can just tie him up also.

A hose can be use to wet the dog. When he’s thoroughly wet, begin applying canine shampoo. Remember to use the shampoo that is suitable for your dog. When applying shampoo, hold him on the head with one hand and on the tail or rear part with another hand. Gently scrub his body until lather has been formed. Focus scrubbing on its feet, ears and part of the anal gland. Scrub off those dirt on your dog.

Rinse him again with the hose to give him a shower effect. You can also scrub those lather to gently rinse the dog’s body. After the dog shampoo has been thoroughly remove, move him freely and expect the dog to shake off those fluids from him (LOL!!!)

After that, towel him dry. And that’s it! Your dog will feel refreshingly clean again, surely! Now you can hug him for a job well done! Good luck peeps! I am looking forward on seeing you having a good time bathing your dogs! Till then…
