Zoe’s Hair Care Advice: Hair Brushing
Hi…how was your day??? I just hope that everything is fine both for you and your dog… I like to check on you guys more often that’s why I tried to finished what I am doing… Well, I had a play a while ago, and decided to take a rest.
While I am playing with my peers, something started to bother me… Don’t think that I am envious or something… I just thought of my Japanese Spitz friend. She has a nice hair, white as snow. (I think she had her hair rebonded every month???) Do you think I’m serious? Rebonding for dogs? Hey, only ladies like my mom do that for their mane!
Okay, I’ll be more serious this time…
It really amazes me. My friend looks so pretty and gorgeous and it adds to her impact on other dogs as well on other people. Every dog owner that pass through her would spare a little time to observed and appreciate her. With these events, I walk through my friend and whisper to her and said, “Arf…can we talk???” and she said, “Oh…Sure…Arf! Arf!
Then with pretty amazement, I asked her about her secret why she maintained a shiny and beautiful hair… Then she paused for a while and humbly said that, “Because my mom always cares to brush my hair, everyday”. Kablaah… her mom always brushes her hair?
With that conversation, now I understand why my mom took my hair brush from my toolbox and started brushing my hair. Well, I would admit. I love the soothing feeling when she is doing this to me. But why does my mom, do this only once a week, while my friend’s mom keeps doing it to her every day?
Here is the answer…
Basically, hair brushing depends on the length of your dog’s hair. If it happens that you have a pet dog that has a long hair, it would require brushing their hair more often to prevent tangling and matting of hair. On the other hand, if your dog have short hair; it is still advisable to brush their hair.
Dog owners should be aware that brushing dog’s hair can deepen your bonding and relationship. Follow the steps for you to enjoy your dog’s hair brushing moment.
1. Before brushing, look for the best place where you and your dog can get comfortable when the brushing session is going on.
2. To avoid hurting your dogs, try removing some knotted hair before brushing.
3. The direction of brushing is from root to tips. (Just like in person’s hair)
4. Gradually comb you dog’s hair to slowly remove tangles.
5. Remember, if the dogs like what you are doing to them, they may stand still. Try to give them some rewards one at a time. In effect, the next time you would have to do the brushing session, they will not hide from you. Try to do these so that it can be one of the things your dogs can look out for.
More to come next time..This is Zoe signing off…For now…
