Zoe’s Word about Hair Trimming Tips For a Nice Looking Coat

Hello peeps! How are you today? Well me? I’m fine. I’m very fine. You know what peeps; there is something new about me today. I am sharing something that is beyond I am or what I have. I will share to you the tips and guidelines on how to trim off your dog’s long hair. So you may asked, why is it beyond me? Because, I don’t have that much hair to trim off. (Trim them and I go bald).

Trimming on your own and not seeking for a dog stylist could give you a hard time. But it is possible peeps. Remember my Japanese Spitz friend I am telling you? Her dog owner is the one who’s been styling up her hair. And gladly, it looks good! But this may not be applicable to all. Most dogs need the help of a dog stylist or the staff from your local dog grooming shop.

Like any other grooming techniques, it is best to prepare the things that you will use for your dog. If you will do simple trimming, you can have a pair of scissors and a comb. For some they prefer razor or electronic clippers. Anything will do that will suit on your capability.

When you have the materials with you, prepare your dog before doing the main course. Petting him will make him feel ease and comfortable on doing the trimming session. When they look uncomfortable, leash him outside of the home to make them feel better.

When trimming the hair, begin on the part where hair are full grown. If you prefer you can leave a half or two inches to still maintain the dog’s length of hair. It depends on your preferences but be sure to style them up.

Repeat the process of trimming on respective areas such as hair on the feet, ears and chest. Be sure to do it with caution. There are certain parts of the dog wherein they are more sensitive like the part in the face and ears. There are also least sensitive so areas so you can start trimming here. Least sensitive parts include back and areas around the feet and legs.

Peeps, be extra aware on holding the trimmer as it could not hurt the dog if he doesn’t respond right on your moves. While doing the process, reach out for your dog. They never get used on trimming their hair so please peeps be as sensitive as them as possible. You may not want to feel that trimming session is not a good thing for them.

After that, you can pat him and praise him for a job well done. That was it! I know even if I my mom haven’t been doing trimming my hair all the time, I know in my heart that it is fun. Have a happy trimming adventure…
