Greetings to all of you… A beautiful day is coming ahead so better get a heads up! As always, I am again very excited to share good and useful ideas to you. Do you want to know it then? Well here it goes…

Last time I have shared about the tips on how to trim your dog’s nails. I have mentioned the basic guidelines for trimming your dog nails if you want to do it yourself within the comfort of your own home.

But for some instances, we may not know when accident would happen. The unfortunate thing is the fact that surprises are always bound to happen, especially not so good ones. Think of this scenario, while trimming your dog nails, you accidentally trimmed the area underneath his toenail. The pink flesh that is underneath his toenail that is very sensitive to pain. If you are in your dog’s position, someone would soon be hearing a quick Ouch! That really hurts! (Pinch me if I am wrong on saying that! But not too hard, buddy!)

One sunny afternoon, my Dad decided to trim my toenail. For some reason, he was just too excited to do it himself. So I let him! At first, we were really having a good time. Just like our usual bonding time together. But suddenly, he accidentally trimmed on one of my toenail up to its quick. Then it started to bleed. Then again. the toenail continually bleeds and he was so upset he lost track on what to do. I just know that he is panicking eventhough I am also aware that at the back of his mind, he wants to show he is calm so that I won’t panic.

What happened next? Read on and you will find out the action plan he worked on to stop my bleeding toenail.

Accidents happen in any way. No one ever allows it to happen. The only thing we can do to alleviate it is to prepare for it. In any way, you know where you will get to or whom to go to. In case of bleeding toenails for your pet, consider having with you a box of styptic pencil together with the nail trimmer and nail file. In the event of the bleeding, you should clean the part where the cut occurs. Then try applying the styptic pencils. These styptic pencils are the ones used to stop the bleeding of the nails. Usually, the application technique is to hold the pencil on the tip then slowly rotating on the affected part to cover up the bleeding. After application, it takes up to 5 minutes to stop the bleeding.

Moms and/or dads out there, who have pet dogs, be extra careful on trimming the nails of your dogs. When you are planning to do this, be sure you have the right materials and first aid in case of emergencies. Most of all, try not to cut up to the quick. Now, if you find it really bothersome, you should consider taking your pet dog to a dog groomer. Not only can you aim for trimming toenails once you are there. Better head for complete grooming procedures for your dog, smart enough? ( Hey, this is Zoe, right? No need to wonder then.)

So that was it. Next time watch out for some natural remedies you can do when styptic nails are not around. Hope to see you there!
